1. Product Classification Review
Products are strictly classified as Cosmetic, Natural Health Product (NHP), or Drug based on function and intended use. Misclassification may result in a sales ban or product recall.
2. Ingredient Regulations & Labeling
Ingredient screening against the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist for prohibited and restricted substances. Bilingual labeling in both English and French is a mandatory requirement.
3. Cosmetic Notification (CNF)
No pre-market approval is required. A Cosmetic Notification Form (CNF) must be submitted to Health Canada within 10 days of the product going on sale.
